Goma Dressing
Posted by annie on Dec 4th, 2008
Goma dressing is a thick Japanese sesame seed dressing that goes great on salad, veggies, noodles, rice, chicken…
If you’ve ever had tahini, which is ground sesame seed paste, goma is kind of like that, but with a much richer and deeper flavor.
You’d think something so tasty would be fatty, but each serving of goma dressing (2 tbsp) is only 25 calories! In comparison, the Hidden Valley buttermilk ranch dressing in my fridge is 140 calories per serving (also 2 tbsp). I’d also like to add that while goma dressing had 0 calories from fat, the ranch has 130 calories from fat!
In consideration of those of you who don’t live near a Japanese grocery store, I’ve been trying to look online for a recipe, but it seems like most recipes include items you’d have to purchase from a Japanese grocery store…
