The “I Launched A Project, I Can Eat What I Want” edition

After eating nothing but americanos, eggs and apples for several days, I’ve been indulging in all the foods I was craving the past few weeks:
- Turkey burger with bacon & onion rings
- Chicken fried steak and eggs. I haven’t had this in years.
- Crab-cake benedicts. Yes, plural.
- Chicken tenders. What the hell is a “tender” anyway?
- Espresso almond brownie, Chocolate chip cookies, Oreo cream cake, Bostom cream pie, Princess cake. Probably some other terrible desserts that I have no recollection of eating.
All I’m missing is the pizza and ice cream. (Together.)

I had a pretty blasé food day (after the soup):
- three bowls of Chinese cabbage soup (I finally finished the huge tub of soup my mom gave me)
- one plate of salad with goma dressing
- half of a See’s milk chocolate bar with toffee
- one slice of hawaiian pizza
- two servings of sour cream and onion chips
- some strawberries
- two small cubes of cheese
- some grapes
- 1/8 of a piece of sausage
- two baby carrots
- one bit of chocolate cake
okay, I guess when I list it all out, it doesn’t seem blasé. but I don’t really like hawaiian pizza, chocolate, or cake.

I don’t relish that dish

I’ve returned from an official Cut & Taste mission: Sample new flavors and report back (...Fine, I just wanted to get a hot dog.)
While standing in line, I saw a middle-aged couple sit down at a table with two slices of combination pizza, topped with relish and onions — condiments that were available for the hot dog eaters, such as myself. It wasn’t just a sprinkle of relish and onion, either. It was piles. I’ve never seen such a thing.
When I went to the condiments table to dress up my hot dog, the relish-pizza-lovin’ woman stepped up to get even more relish and onions.
She officially had more relish and onion than pizza. The pizza slice had been transformed into an edible plate and the condiments were now the main course.
Is this a new fad that people aren’t telling me about? Is there a relish diet spreading through the weight loss community? Clue me in!

TIP: When you want a midnight snack, don’t start cooking chicken stock from scratch. It’s now approaching 3AM and I’m finally able to eat my chicken soup that’s been simmering for over four hours.
For those who care, the ingredients are: the remains of a rotisserie chicken, chopped celery, baby carrots, chopped onions, minced garlic, herbs/seasoning (from Harry & David, but you can use whatever you got – I bet even just salt and pepper would taste good) and lots of water.
After letting those ingredients simmer over a low heat for several hours, I sleep-walked downstairs to the kitchen and tossed in some penne pasta.
Why am I still writing? It’s feasting time. 3AM is the proper hour for feasting, right?
